Tubal Testing

Invisible does not mean imaginary

Endometriosis occurs when the tissue normally growing inside your uterus (endometrial tissue) is spread out of the uterus on other organs or structures in the body. Once in the pelvis, the endometrial tissue causes inflammation and scarring leading to chronic pelvic pain.

Diagnosing and treating endometriosis, condition which affects up to 10% of women worldwide, is a huge challenge. As we cannot pinpoint what is the main cause, laparoscopy in combination with medications and lifestyle changes can limit the risk of becoming worse.

Unfortunately, 30% to 60% of patients will have recurrences within a year of surgical treatment. The presence of endometriosis can make it harder for a woman to conceive. Concretely, endometriosis can interfere with the reproductive components and functions such as egg count and quality, impaired implantation and tubal scarring.

As endometriosis can be triggered by a combination of factors including hormone imbalances, stress and nutritional deficiencies, our role is a multi-factorial approach including nutrition and supplements as also the best time to proceed for IVF treatment and for fertility preservation (egg freezing) without increasing the risk to flare up your endometriosis using high doses of stimulating drugs.
