PGT Preimplantation genetic testing

Mapping your future

The preimplantation genetic testing is a laboratory process performed on the embryos produced through IVF. Testing for chromosomally abnormal embryos (PGT-A) and for specific genetic diseases in case of family history (PGT-M) through a biopsy of a few cells on day 5 or 6 according to the embryo development, can prevent the transfer of abnormal embryos that would have resulted in failed implantations, miscarriages or affected children. PGT improves the fertility treatment outcome irrespective of the woman’s age group by:

  • Increasing significantly (up to 85%) the pregnancy success rates
  • Decreasing the number of IVF cycles needed to achieve pregnancy and therefore reducing time and cost
  • Reducing miscarriages rates (70% of spontaneous miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormalities)
  • Enabling confident single embryo transfer avoiding complications associated with multiple pregnancies
  • Helping couples with increased risk of transmitting a genetic disorder conceive a healthy baby
